FRAMES
The project will take place in two phases: pilot project and sustainable programme.
Following the evaluation of the pilot project, the sustainable programme will be elaborated in full partnership with the participating Mapuche communities.
PILOT PROJECT
(October 2008-April 2009)
• Participatory workshops for the collective analysis of the potential strategic uses of digital video, adapted to Mapuche priorities.
• Interactive training workshops in the use of digital video technologies (production, filming, editing and diffusion).
• Continuous technical accompaniment in the planning and implementation of community video projects.
• Support for the diffusion of the digital materials produced, in Chile and internationally.
SUSTAINABLE PROGRAMME
(Possibilities to be developed: 2009 and beyond)
• Development of a programme of solidary sharing and exchange between indigenous communities in Canada, in Chile and across the Americas involved in the strategic use of digital video: (1) the creation of a virtual space and (2) the coordination of international exchanges.
• Creation of permanent digital production centres and a media library owned and run by the Mapuche communities.
• Permanent programme of community workshops offering training in the use of digital video.
This sustainable programme could become integrated into the long-term programming of, among others, the Autonomous Mapuche School of Tranamán.
